When we were living in Richmond, VA, we separately replaced our a/c and a/c-heat pump unit over the last 3 years, both times hiring Universal. They are excellent! On Monday evening I noticed a strange sound coming from my outside compressor and the whole unit shut off. My 70 year old mother stays with me and she uses oxygen so AC is a necessity not a luxury secondary to her health. I called and left a message with a company recommended by my neighbor but they would not be able to come until Wednesday.

I called Kim at 8 a.m. and explained the situation. She said someone would be able to come today when they were free. I was thinking they would not be able to come until the afternoon so I made arrangements to have my mother stay somewhere else where she could be more comfortable. I was pleasantly shocked when Kim called at about 10 a.m. and said Stefan would be there in 5 or 10 minutes. He arrived and within 30 minutes my AC was up and running again. I would definitely recommend Universal to anyone and will be using them again in the future. It is always a pleasure to deal with a company with such wonderful customer service.

I used Universal Heating Air Conditioning and Plumbing for a new hot water heater installation and valve replacement. I love their service. I thought they were wonderful. They sent one person who was extremely quiet. He spent a long time working. It took him three hours in the install it, because I asked him to change some valves. He worked quietly and competently. He explained everything he was doing. He was on time. His work was great. The hot water heater is working perfectly well. I would absolutely use them again in the future.
